Your Main Responsibilities:

As Health & Safety Manager, you will support the HSE organisation at SABENA Engineering (Charleroi/Zaventem).

• Design, implement and maintain HSE policies, procedures and programmes in compliance with local, national and international regulations
• Ensure effective communication of all HSE policies to all staff.
• Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop action plans to mitigate risks
• Work with stakeholders to develop contingency plans and incident response procedures.
• Organise regular training sessions for staff to ensure a full understanding of safety procedures and practices
• Promote a safety culture within the organisation through awareness campaigns
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations
• Keeping abreast of legislative changes and updating policies and procedures accordingly
• Ensuring that the company’s activities comply with the requirements set out in ISO 14001
• Investigate incidents, accidents or non-compliance and recommend corrective action
• Maintain accurate records of incidents and corrective actions taken
• Carry out regular audits to assess the effectiveness of HSE programmes
• Propose and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Contribute to the implementation of corrective and preventive actions to continuously strengthen the safety and environmental management system.
• Work closely with operational departments to integrate HSE standards into day-to-day activities, as well as the principles of ISO 14001
• Maintain open communication with employees and management teams regarding health, safety and environmental issues.

Your profile:

• You have a Master’s degree in a technical field
• You have the “level 1 prevention advisor” certificate
• You have at least 3 years’ experience in a safety-related position
• You have a good knowledge of local and international HSE regulations, e.g. Codex, ISO 14001, Reach, ADR, EN9100, etc.
• You have good project management and problem-solving skills
• You are diplomatic and able to interact with different stakeholders
• Independence, analytical acumen, responsibility, accuracy, work ethic and assertiveness are your main assets
• You are also a committed, communicative and motivated person who seeks to find a solution to every problem
• Languages: French, English and a good knowledge of Dutch
